In Austria, this is the Data Protection Authority (www.dsb.gv.at).

No Cookies, No Tracking

We do not use tracking cookies and no analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar services. There is no tracking of your user behavior and no creation of user profiles. Therefore, we do not require a cookie banner.

3. Data Collection on This Website

a) Server Log Files

Each time you access this website, information is automatically collected by the web hosting provider and stored in server log files. This includes browser type/version, operating system, the previously visited page (referrer URL), IP address of the accessing computer, and time of the server request. This data is used to ensure the security and stability of the system. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

b) Contact via Email

If you contact us by email, the data you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing your inquiry and for any follow-up questions. We will not share this data without your consent.

c) Contact Form (via Formspree)

When you use our contact form, the data you enter (e.g., name, email, subject, message) is transmitted to the technical service provider Formspree, Inc., USA, and forwarded to us by email. This data is used exclusively to process your inquiry. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and efficient means of contact (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. External Services and Resources

This website uses external resources for technically correct display. When accessing these resources, your IP address is transmitted to the respective provider's servers. We have a legitimate interest in using these services to make our website functional and appealing (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Local Hosting: On the main page and most subpages, everything is hosted locally (fonts, JavaScript libraries, CSS). No requests are made to external servers except for the exceptions listed below.

Important: The external services mentioned below are purely technical tools (fonts, styling, charts, map display) and not tracking or analytics tools. These services do not set cookies, do not create user profiles, and do not track your behavior on our or other websites.

External services used:

  • Google Fonts: Only on a few older subpages (mainly older news articles and weather knowledge posts), fonts are loaded from Google Ireland Limited. Your IP address is transmitted to Google.
  • Chart.js and jsDelivr CDN: On some weather station pages, the Chart.js library and chartjs-adapter-date-fns are loaded from jsDelivr CDN for displaying charts and graphs.
  • Tailwind CSS CDN: The Tailwind CSS framework is loaded from an external CDN on pages with weather station data.
  • OpenStreetMap Tiles: For displaying interactive maps, map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap servers. OpenStreetMap is a non-profit project without commercial tracking purposes.

Note: We continuously work to reduce external dependencies and host more resources on our own server to better protect your privacy.
