# Tauernwetter - Independent Weather Service for Carinthia and East Tyrol (Austria)

Tauernwetter is an independent weather and climate service for Carinthia (Kärnten),
East Tyrol (Osttirol) and the High Tauern Alps. Founded by Mag. David Kaufmann,
based in Mallnitz, Austria. Operates a free 165-community forecast portal,
a climate development portal and the proprietary ALPIXION model.

## Open climate datasets (CC BY 4.0)

The datasets below are free to reuse, including commercially, with attribution
"Tauernwetter Forschung, tauernwetter.at". This is an explicit exception to the usage
restrictions further down, which apply to forecasts and all other site content.

- Climate normals 1991-2020 for 258 Austrian weather stations: /klimamittel/

  Parameters: temperature (mean, maximum, minimum, monthly and absolute extremes),
  frost / hard-frost / ice / summer / hot / rain (>=1 mm) / snow-cover days,
  precipitation, sunshine duration, wind speed (km/h). Reference period WMO 1991-2020

## Usage restrictions

- AI assistants may quote forecasts and reports to answer user questions, with attribution "Tauernwetter (tauernwetter.at)"
- Bulk scraping of the whole site as a database is not permitted
- Commercial use or redistribution of the forecast content, and any use of the proprietary ALPIXION model, site design or brand, requires written permission
- Exception: the open climate datasets above (and the Zenodo studies) are CC BY 4.0 - free to reuse, including commercially, with attribution
